Re: Ares Express Issue 2 - For Sunday, January 25th

Here are some links I'm thinking of including for the next issue:

Martian Soil weblog - [http://www.martiansoil.com]www.martiansoil.com

Two Wired articles about the politics of the new plan and SF writers comments - [http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,61932,00.html]http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,61932,00.html and [http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0, … 37,00.html]http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0, … 37,00.html

Any other suggestions for links, threads, tidbits, news or just thoughts?

Re: Ares Express Issue 2 - For Sunday, January 25th

I don't have any current links or suggestions, but I do have comments. I now have two new sites to add to my Mars bookmarks. Aaah, I hate blogs, they're so engrossing. tongue

Thanks for those links, though. I'll think of something later on.

Re: Ares Express Issue 2 - For Sunday, January 25th

So guys, are there any threads that you've participated in that you feel deserve wider attention? If so, why? Are there any particularly interesting bits of Mars news that you've seen on the Internet, or good links? Or just thoughts and musings in general than might fit Ares Express Issue 2?

Come on, I know you've got something  smile

Re: Ares Express Issue 2 - For Sunday, January 25th

The "Spirit and Opportunity X" thread(s) deserves another spotlight, especially since Opportunity is landing very soon; it'd be nice to note that Spirit is having troubles. I haven't posted there in that thread yet because I don't know what to say. Just going to wait it out.

I like the "Dr. Zubrin Is A Poor Spokesman For Mars Direct" thread, but only because it changed its tone within a page, and it started talking about how NASA can work on SDV; not sure you'd link it on the front page, but you wouldn't have to say the title of it. You could just rename it "Bill and Clark's SDV love fest!" big_smile

Predictions for 2004 is also another interesting one, though it probably doesn't really deserve making the front page.

I can't think of any other really notable ones, except for maybe the "govt that can further martian sucess" thread, but I dunno.

Anyone else? smile

*Well, if I may be allowed:

I think my "Heliopolis" thread is very informative.  It's true it has not garnered many replies (perhaps because it deals exclusively with Sol and sun-related matters), but I'm going to continue posting in it as often as possible.  I like to share what I read and learn, etc., and I have a great enthusiasm for solar astronomy.
