Breaking News Tuesday 2024/04/23 ....
The clone of FluxBB 1.5.11 is posting for the first time since the start of the upgrade effort, 2023/11/12.
Webmaster kbd512 did the foundation work to enable the forum software to run at all under modern PHP.
With plenty of additional assistance from kbd512 and from ChatGPT4, I am happy to report that the software posted for the first time.
For SpaceNut ... I am almost certain that it is within your power to clear the last hurdle on the clone site.
The solution requires Senior Administrator powers.
ChatGPT4 and I had to work around the problem because I am a Junior Moderator, with very limited powers.
Should you care to take this on, you will be able to log into the clone as Administrator and go to Administrator >> Options.
There you will be able to update the config table in the database.
You will find four rows left over from the production environment.
You will be able to correct the base url to 40 IP address and the correct path.
You will be able to replace three email addresses with newmarsmember@gmail.com
Last, after the changes are saved, you need to clear the cache_config.php file. I am not an Administrator, but ChatGPT4 seems to think you have the power to clear the cache. If you cannot clear the cache, let me know and I'll take care of it manually.
There is still a small bug in core.php, but I think we're past the worse of the changes.
You should be able to post on the clone, after completing those steps.

The clone of FluxBB 1.5.11 appears to be posting on Azure.
All current NewMars members are invited to log in and beat on the software.
The database is from November of 2023. Don't worry about changing anything in that old database.
This is a test system. What we need is to find every bug that remains. I know there is at least one, in core.php. There are probably others.
Please copy the error message (if you can) and paste it into the Azure topic.
