I like Cindy's sig. big_smile

"The Lunar Siren...has probably done as much to wreck would-be Mars ventures to date as all five 'dragons' combined...the Moon is not useful as a Mars transportation base....We won't learn how to live on Mars by practicing on the Moon."  - Robert Zubrin

Could you give me a source for that Cindy? smile

Um, I believe that came straight out of Zubrin's "Case for Mars, outlining the advantages of bypassing the Moon and going straight to Mars, which is supposely the cornerstone of the Mars Society.  Now it seems they're changing their tune in response to Dubya's new space plan...perhaps we should write Zubrin and ask him to "clarify" things for us...  ???

*Hey Josh and Byron:

Yep, from _The Case for Mars_, "Killing the Dragons, Avoiding the Sirens" chapter...particularly pages 135 - 137 ("The Lunar Siren:  Why We Don't Need Lunar Bases to go to Mars").

Re: Apropos of Nothing 2 - Run of the mill randomness!

*I dyed my hair red (soft auburnish) last evening.  It didn't turn out so well (my hair didn't "take" most of the color), so I'll have to redo it.

About 20 minutes ago, as I was scrambling breakfast eggs for my husband and I, the pepper shaker slipped out of my hand and fell into the eggs.  sad  I seldom have mishaps in the kitchen, in case you're wondering (I doubt you are).

Re: Apropos of Nothing 2 - Run of the mill randomness!

I saw a guy on T.V. with his pet rock years ago. He'd had limited success in teaching it tricks but he demonstrated pretty convincingly that it had mastered an understanding of the command: "STAY!"

Well, at least it was a start.   cool

*Ppffffftttttt!  Is that all?

I had a pet rock which I taught to Stay, Sit, Roll Over -and- Play Dead.

Very talented pet rock.

I support Cindy's choice of signature. It's appropriate. I like it.

Better be firm as a pet rock on this.

You haven't fully experienced life until you've watched a college basketball game in Cameron Indoor Stadium. (Duke University).

I'd recommend wearing some ear plugs, though!  tongue

Re: Apropos of Nothing 2 - Run of the mill randomness!

*Lately I've been craving chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.

Also craving salted mixed nuts.

My favorite season is autumn.

This has been the Morning From Hell.

I just bit into a Sugar-Free Russell Stover toffee square candy.

My fingertips are cold (carpal tunnel syndrome).

Orange is my favorite color.

fdsa jkl;

I'm going to re-dye my hair tonight (hopefully THIS time the color will take correctly!).
