#1 Re: Mars Analogue Research Stations » Scada / Daq » 2017-05-09 09:18:18

I would love to work on something for the research station, but I need to know what is the most requested / needed thing on the station. Of course, my time/resources are somehow limited so it would probably make sense to start with something small.
Do you know who is the best person to contact regarding this?

Other uses NEEDED NOW are:
- EVA Suit Health Monitoring
- Remote Magnetic Clinometer
- Synchronized Seismic Sensors
- Other Station Telemetry (Data Feeds)

Are they really needed? If I would build one of them would anyone at MS be interested?

You can see some details of what is needed on the site itf.marssociety.org (bottom of page).  I can arrange for you to get the mysql-bin files if you are interested in helping.  Email me

Can you confirm that you've received my email? I emailed to both your email and webmaster@ but got no response.

Thanks

I would say that about 50% of the data has been recovered

I believe I could help with restoring the other 50%. Who should I contact?

Does FMARS or MDRS currently use any SCADA / Data Acquisition hardware and software?
If not, why?

Would it be beneficial to have a system that monitors and/or controls some aspects of the station i.e temperature, humiditiy etc?

Has this issue been resolved, or do you still need help recoving that 90GB of data?

So the plastic film of a greenhouse on Mars shouldn't burn. If it does, once pressure is lost and Mars 95%+ CO2 atmosphere is exposed, the fire should go out. A metal hab shouldn't burn. The entire hab should be designed to be non-flamable.

The fire could still be burning if oxygen is supplied from the other parts of the habitat, putting anyone living there in danger. In addition to that to burn, afaik the fire does not need the oxygen in the atmosphere to burn - it just need some kind of an oxidizer.
