The First Words competition has now officially launched! If you're new to the website and would like to find out more about the competition, check the About page. Everything on the website should hopefully be self explanatory.

If you'd like to enter the competition, head over to the Categories and Prizes section to learn more about what's involved in the different categories and what prizes are being offered for each. After that, read the rules (don't worry, they're short and not nasty) and then register for the competition.

Even if you don't enter the competition, make sure you have a look at the Famous First Words page - we have some great contributions from top SF authors, scientists and politicians that range from the humorous to the profound. Also read over the articles about Mars that we have online. Most importantly, just have fun!
